A Bygone Friend

I was supposed to be working this morning, writing up some stuff for _sps_, but I'm waiting on e-mail from someone else before I can do that, so I'm sort of in a holding pattern here.

I've decided to use the time to write about an old, and long lost friend. I'm going to break slightly with LJ tradition and name names in this journal entry. The reason for that is that I harbor some hope that the individual this post is about, one Danny Bertrand, may actually see the thing some day.

Got the files I've been waiting for, but now I don't have time to do anything with them. I'm due at the mouse house in an hour. Gotta run.

Its been a good day.

So, had fun at the mouse house today. Enough folks showed up that it was much fun. Must do it again soon.

Now though, I have some files I have to write up, collect together and mail off to _sps_ as a way of delegating some of my website work for the Toronto Worldcon (and yeah the website sucks. I had nothing to do with the parts you can see from that link.)

This last week has been kind of hectic. I am simultaneously

A) brushing up on my Perl,
B) Learning how taint perl works,
C) Learning the CGI:: and XML::Parser perl libraries
D) learning how CGI interfaces work,
E) Learning HTML, and
F) Learning Javascript

With the exception of Perl, my knowledge of all of these things last Friday was negligible.

I've always meant to learn these things mind you, just not all in the same week. And now, off I go to do some e-mailing, and then I can sleep.

I just found out from taxlady that ellenk has friended me. I gather that she and taxlady have known each other for some time. Anyway, just wanted to wave Hi <waves>. I hope you like my journal, but I rather fear it will bore you stiff instead.
