Spent most of the day in bed, feeling awful. Actually had to tell [livejournal.com profile] enaira that I was too sick for [livejournal.com profile] taxlady and I to go see X2 this weekend. And I've been so looking forward to it.

Hmm. Never did hear from [livejournal.com profile] _sps_ about getting together today for supper, but I assume he read my earlier posts and concluded (correctly) that I was too sicky.

On the other hand, [livejournal.com profile] taxlady has been reminding me how wonderful a person she is by waiting on me hand and foot. She made sure I was comfy and she brought me pills and soda pop and hot soup and refills of soda pop, and more pills, and kissed me to make me feel better.

I still feel awful, but I feel LOVED and awful.

... and I'm about to fall asleep. With luck I'll make it to bed first. I just wanted to say Hi! to [livejournal.com profile] azrhey and I'm glad she decided to join our little online gossip-swap community.

So, I'm sick (Yes still. I never planned for this to be a journal of Sti's perpetual illnesses, but there you have it).

Anyway, I've been laying around a bunch and when I haven't been sleeping I've been reading. I've already finished Consider Phlebas by Ian Banks, which was good, but not as good as Excession. I'm 99 44/100% of the way through Picoverse by Robert A. Metzger which is not bad for hard SF, but has just a little too much Deus Ex Machina going on for my taste. On the other hand, if I wanted to REALLY mess up a bunch of PC's in an RPG I could take a few pages from this book. No one is who (or even which species) they think they are, and much mind fiddling happens before and during the main story.

I also managed to download Part 2 of the "Dragon Half" anime, and I had forgotten just how FUNNY it is. I'm now trying to finish downloading Part 1. If, by some strange chance, neither [livejournal.com profile] denizsarikaya nor [livejournal.com profile] enaira have seen them before, I should bring them on VCD to [livejournal.com profile] denizsarikaya's for one of our marathon's.
