Just venting a bit here. So far I haven't had any of the weird cravings that can accompany the first week of induction, but two days ago my brains went away, and they haven't come back. I should have guessed this would happen. One of the major reasons I've never liked sports is that I don't like being stupid, and I long ago noticed that after any vigorous sport I would walk around in a fog, unable to think. Its also happened to me more than once DURING a game. Well, now that I've about depleted my body's glucose store, I'm in a permanent state of "Duh".

It seriously feels like I'm trying to think through a thick cloying fog. Oh well, with any luck my body should kick over into ketosis by tomorrow or the next day, and I'll be able to think again. At least that's the theory. Lets hope it holds up in practice. In the meantime don't expect me to be a brilliant conversationist, or to remember to put the lid back on the mustard.

Yeah. I did some exercise once, and I've been stupid ever since.

That's really weird. One of the reasons I love exercise is because it *clears* my head. It probably is a metabolism change thing. Going low-carb made my brain better, but I also did it much more gradually, never having needed an induction phase.

Even if you've cut down on carbs, the fact that you're now doing it to the letter AND omitting caffeine is likely causing a change. In a few days you may find yourself bouncing off the walls; that's what happened to Steve.

After you've lost the weight you want, you might want to take a look at South Beach. It has no problem with brown rice and whole grains. But for a large weight loss, Atkins is appropriate.

Recall the line from "The 120-Year Diet" by Dr. Roy Walford? If cutting down on one sin, compensate by increasing others. For example, if cutting down on gluttony, compensate by doubling up on lechery!
