So a 15 hour sleep used to be a usual thing for me back when I was a harried student and only got to really sleep on weekends. I'd go a week on 5 or 6 hours sleep and then crash for 15 or 20 on the weekend and I would be ready for more.  That ability went away sometime after my hair did, so now I just try to always get enough sleep. With my body clock though, that's never easy. Anyway, wen I went to bed at noon I expected to sleep between 8 and 12 hours, with 12 being optomistic. So here I am 15 hours later and by some miracle I don't even have a migraine.

I awoke to a firewall that was complaining of no service. This has been happening on-and-off since Bell upgraded our lines, but my ISP always says everything is fine at their end. Today they had a different notice on their status board. Bell has informed them that during the upgrade lines got switched around and if people are experiencing occasional service irregularities they should phone Bell's technical support hotline and have them run line tests. So, that sounds very plausible as a cause of my troubles, and I'll do that as soon as my day/night resynchs with the rest of the world. At the same time I'll probably finish the firewall upgrade today so that the new server is on its own isolated segment of the LAN and the firewall is able to automatically recover from these service-outages without requiring a reboot. After that I shouldn't ever have to reboot the firewall again, until the next time I upgrade it.

So, I'm actually looking forward to today! Isn't that a switch over my attitude for the last few months!
