Awake and Reminiscing.
Mar. 28th, 2004 03:30 pmThis morning I was reminded of some strange TV shows that I loved as a kid. Most folks have never heard of them. One was sort-of a prequel to Xena called Wizards and Warriors. It was a truely funny take off on the entire AD&D and fantasy literature genre. It was inspired by both the Princess Bride (the book, the movie didn't exist yet), and The Wild Wild West tv show. Being of high quality and very funny, it was cancelled after 8 episodes.
The other show I enjoyed immensely was Quark, the story of a United Galaxies Sanitation Patrol Cruiser, and its crew of complete misfits. My brother's favorite bit of the show was Ergo, the captain's pet protoplasmic blob, which was always trying to kill and eat the captain...
