Didn't much feel like posting when I got up. I managed to figure out what was (I hope) the last bug in my CSX processor before going to bed, but I was too muzzy to fix it then.

So, when I got up around noon I put in a couple of hours and nailed it. I won't guarantee that its 100% yet, but it is successfully parsing and executing all of the routines I need to process the CSS file I'm working on. So, I need to spend a few hours organizing said CSS file and then I can finally do the web site propper. Man this has taken freakin FOREVER, so I'm glad its nearing done.

In other news [livejournal.com profile] taxlady and I finally removed the remains of our broken screen door, and I've been working away on the old pentium machine on the kitchen table, since [livejournal.com profile] taxlady is finally ready to upgrade her machine (mainly ram), and she would like to swap her 8-gig drive for the 20 I have in the pentium.

Now, we're about to head off and see if we can't find us some cheap PC100 RAM.

Your camera looks very very nice sitting on my bookshelf next to the two others. Yours is by far the most interesting looking one. Silly question: am I supposed to be able to open the casing?

From what I've been seeing, PC133 is actually cheaper than PC100. Which is fine, cause its backwards compatible anyway. :)

Yep! Definitely compatible. In fact, for a long time, PC133 RAM that just couldn't quite make the grade was marketed as PC100.

Affirmative

Back in the day, when I was repping for AMD under the auspices of a company called Future Active Industrial, I built a number of first-gen athlon systems using PC133 RAM. Most of the first gen Athlon boards with the irongate chipsets were only built to take PC100 RAM. As PC133 at that time was usually better quality stuff, I usually used 133 in those systems, with no ill effects.

I've still got an athlon 600, with an Irongate board, sitting over here with PC133 RAM in it, ticking away just fine. THats about the best I can offer ya though for information. :)
