Name that TV Series.
Feb. 25th, 2009 02:07 pmI am trying to remember the name of a very-short lived but promising TV series from the 80's or possibly the late 70's. Its about a man who was framed and sent to prison, and while there decided to study all of the criminal skills he could. When he was finally released he was a master forger, cat burglar, safe cracker, etc, etc.
He then set out to take revenge against organized crime (or perhaps those who had framed him). The one and only episode I ever saw (which was brilliant) involved him breaking into a secure playing-card company and setting up a run of 100,000 decks to all be marked with invisible ink, so he could clean up at a crooked casino in his daytime guise as a playboy millionaire.
sps once told me about seeing an episode where he bought a tanker-load of mouthwash for use in some scam where he had it re-bottled as wine or champagne.
I seem to recall that an ace of spades was a major symbol on the show. Maybe the hero's calling card.
Any ideas?
