Maid Service.
Sep. 14th, 2008 10:52 amThere are half a dozen maids running around in the mornings here and, in general, I never know who ends up cleaning my place. There's definitely a difference in the jobs they do though. One maid simply cannot make a bed so it stays made through the night. When she's done the room I have to remake the bed so that the bottom sheet stays where it should and so on.
I am also unsure of whether the maids do dishes or not. I assumed not when I left a dirty glass out for a few days and it never got cleaned. So, I've been doing my dishes. Friday I was too tired to bother and decided I'd clean them on Saturday, but when I got in that day after breakfast the majority of them had been washed for me.
Just now I went to go check the coffee situation. They generally give me two packets of coffee a day. One regular, one decaf. Each packet makes a full pot of coffee. On week days I almost never have time for more than one (very large) cup of coffee and a full pot can fill my cup three times. On the weekends they often (but not guaranteed) give me two packets on the assumption (I suppose) that I may be home all day drinking coffee, but I still seldom use more than one anyway. A full pot a day is usually enough for me.
So, on days when I get an extra packet that I don't use, I put it into a kitchen drawer that I've dedicated to packets of salt, ketchup and the like. This has proved useful because sometimes the maids forget to give me any coffee at all, and knowing I have a few spares in the drawer makes that not a problem.
Well today I found THREE packets of regular coffee and wondered what was going on. I went to put two of them in the drawer, and found it already stuffed with coffee packets. I guess one of the maids figured that if I was 'hoarding' it or something, that I needed my own stash, so she provided one. I now have enough coffee to make myself very sick for quite a long time, should I desire...
