Now It Can Be Told.
Aug. 18th, 2008 08:04 pmSo, my first day at work today was ... well not exactly grueling but certainly full of its share of its difficulties. From equipment that didn't work, to me having paperwork problems, to the basic mental stress of trying to take in far too much all at once.
Still, the folks where I am now working all seem nice and passionate about their work and those few that I managed to talk to today all seemed like folks I could get along with. Which leads to the obvious question of where I am working and what I am doing. I can't tell very much, but I did ask today what I could officially reveal, and that is this:
I am currently working as a contractor for Intel Corporation to help develop a computer game that will run on the upcoming Larrabee GPU.
And that is pretty much ALL I'm allowed to say about the actual work.
I had planned to do a bunch of stuff after work today. Shopping mostly, but I had a bunch of paperwork issues to deal with as soon as I got in, and then when I went to do the first of my errands I found myself feeling pretty much wiped out. I guess until I'm used to the new schedule and the weather and all, I shouldn't expect too much of myself.
So, instead of doing all that shopping and eating in a restaurant somewhere, I grabbed a sandwich and some OJ at a nearby convenience store, and will now settle down to watch some mindless TV and relax a bit.
