I can't find my passport. I have no idea where its got to. It should be in the safe, with all the other important papers, but its not. I will absolutely need it to enter the States in a week. I'm still hopeful that I'll find it. I'm sure I had it here after my last trip abroad, so its not like it could have gotten far. That's not saying it'll be easy to find though.
So, has anyone here ever had to get a rush replacement passport? :-/ How much hassle was it?

Date: 2008-08-04 03:31 am (UTC)You have to go to main office downtown, and you must bring proof of travel. They can get it to you either super-rush (24 hours) or within two or three days (I don't remember this one clearly). It's a few bucks extra, but totally, totally worth it.

There is an extra step to replace a *missing* passport however -- and that's to report it to Passport Canada and the police. The Canadian passport website has more information here. Best bet -- contact passport Canada by phone and ask for their advice.
