Home From Shopping.
Nov. 22nd, 2007 04:05 pmJust got home from a minor shopping spree, courtesy of my Mom, who sent us some money several days ago. It was, she said, for a new power supply, office chair, immersion blender, and some wine to help cheer me up. Because of Sucha's illness, we didn't do anything more than buy some wine and a new shower massager (ours was 75% dead) until today.
I now have a new office chair (some assembly required -- I'll get to it tomorrow) and we have a new immersion blender (Cuisinart this time). As for the power supply, my brother Marcus was visiting a few days ago and dropped off a 450 watt unit, but it had the wrong motherboard connector (24 pin rather than 20), but I found out that Microbytes sells a $10 adapter. It was our first stop, but they were closed. There was a hand lettered sign on the front door saying they'd be open again tomorrow, and a bunch of cops wandering around inside. My guess is they were robbed or burgled. So, the power supply waits on picking up the cable, but otherwise we seem to be (somewhat) dealing with the household chaos.
Of course, all that shopping means we'll postpone Sucha's burial until tomorrow as I'm exhausted and its now getting dark. Besides, the snow is supposed to be over tomorrow, which should make the job a bit easier. I just hope the ground isn't too frozen yet.

Date: 2007-11-23 03:01 pm (UTC)If you have the same one my mother has, you can remove the end and stick it on this little pot-with-blades thing, and have a mini-food-processor, as well. If you have this model, brilliant.
Cuisinart kitchen gear may be a guilty addiction. Which I'm resisting - I wants it, my precious, but my spare cash goes to books and food, and the rest goes to mutual funds, so I will just continue to envy the pure awesome of your cuisinart kitchen gear. :)
