Yesterday I went to visit [livejournal.com profile] kalkuly. Together we went to Jean-Talon market (where I had never been before) and bought many pounds of fruits, vegetables and sugar for canning and cooking purposes. It would have been lots of fun if not for the fact that it decided to pour with rain while we were at the market. We both got rather damp as a result.

Upon arriving back at her place, [livejournal.com profile] kalkuly started making up a hearty soup to warm us up, while I spent the same time removing thousands of elderberries from the berry-laden branches that had been collected earlier. My hands are still slightly purple as a result.

Because we had gotten off to a late start (due entirely to a spot of insomnia on my part the night before), we didn't get around to doing any canning or jam making, as I had hoped we might. Still, it was nice to see her again.

Then, on the long trip home from her place, I sat and thought about how to do the next step in the setup of the website for Anticipation. It became clear that I needed to look at a routine in one of the add-ons I was using, and see if it did what I needed, or if it would have to be extended.

Well, last night I worked out that it would, indeed, need extending but that it shouldn't be a big job.

The plan had sort-of been for me to do that today, but I took so long waking up (possibly due to the weather) that I only now am in a state where I might do that. However, in a very short time I'll be heading out to a costume/birthday party thing, and so its probably best if I don't try to rush things now, but get a reasonable start on it tomorrow.

As for the party, I'd be wearing a costume (I have a dozen or so) but I couldn't find any of them. We really do need to finish deciding where everything will go in the basement and start unpacking boxes. Its getting close to 8 months since we had the disaster, and it would be very good to have a functional basement again.
