The Plan^™, well actually the Revised, Improved, This-One-Will-Work-Dammit, Plan^™ was to have taxlady and I head out to breakfast at 9:00 am before going to visit my folks. For me to accomplish this in a reasonable fashion, I had to wake up by 7:00 am, as I am a slow start in the morning. To be feasible at all, I had to be up at 8:00. I just woke up. Needless to say, the plan has not survived its first encounter with the enemy, and as Pogo said: "We have met the enemy, and he is us."

You know, I really hate it when plans don't work out, but I especially really really REALLY hate it when its my fault. Anyway, I am now drinking coffee while drying off from my shower. The moment its done, I'm doing a rush packing, and we're out of here. Hopefully, not running more than an hour late.

Here is a (I hope) constructive suggestion: see if you can arrange it by staying up until you're exhausted or by other means, then curl up in the back of the car and sleep while Taxlady drives. Then you can arrive on time and sleep some more at your destination after staggering out of the car somehow. I realize that you'll have to sleep longer than the length of time of the drive, but maybe this idea will spur you on to other ideas that might work better. If you wake up during the night maybe you can start your trip at 6AM and finish sleeping in the car. You can figure out a way to compensate Taxlady for doing the driving. Anyway, I hope that your plan didn't end up with you losing your hat...
