In other news, I seem to be winning the battle with the migraine. Sun is streaming in my office window, but I'm showing no signs of photophobia. The headache is also down to a dull throb. I shall have some more strong coffee, and hopefully that will kill it.

Actually, there are two types of migraines: those resulting in overdilated cranial blood vessels (the type I get) and those resulting in constricted cranial blood vessels.

Coffee is a vasoconstrictor so it helps with type 1 and makes type 2 worse. My sister-in-law gets type 2 migraines and drinking coffee is the last thing she should do when she gets one.

*nods* See, I get withdrawl symptoms (headaches) when I DON'T have caffeine... which kinda cinches the issue on morning cups of coffee.

One of my migraine triggers is strong scents, though, ESPECIALLY types of perfume, and once I have a migraine any scent at all is absolutely unbearable... so coffee is the last thing I can deal with once the migraine is already there. Drinking it early on eliminates any caffeine withdrawl, though, which occasionally helps.

*sigh* My head hates me. And I'll leave it at that.
