Now that everyone knows we got home safely. (We did try to call. There was no answer.)  I'm going to post my rather confused and jumbled recollections of the party and what happened.

Its long and if you weren't there, you may not care, so
First of all, B_THE_H couldn't make it this time, but both [livejournal.com profile] azrhey and [livejournal.com profile] ravi put in appearances, so that was a most good thing, although evidence was gathered that [livejournal.com profile] ravi is, indeed, deeply insane. He had apparantly lopped off both of his feet in a shaving accident shortly before coming to visit, but insisted that he was more comfortable standing than sitting. He also insisted on bustling about on his stumps trying to be helpful. Ravi: Cool Out Dude!

Another interesting fact was that although [livejournal.com profile] ravi and [livejournal.com profile] miseri were both originally from Asia, they claim to have never (knowingly) met before. I mean, what are the odds of that???

So, K the food goddess was present again, but we tied her down and forced her to imbibe fermented fruit juices while forbidding her access to the kitchen. For the most part she took this in stride, and opened up considerably more this time than last. She was also not dressed as a kitchen serf this time around so her appearance index shot up at least two points. The only bad part of getting her to talk was when she got on the hot topic of fish rights. Everyone had something to say, and it was often in strong disagreement with what someone else had said. Still, no glassware was thrown so, in [livejournal.com profile] somecanuckchick's words "It was all good".

M the laconic Aussie proved that he was capable of vocalization after all, and ended up having a long and technical conversation with K and [livejournal.com profile] somecanuckchick about fMRI research he was involved with. At some point during this discussion he seems to have discovered that both of his listeners were ticklish, and tickle fights broke out that soon had both of his victims screeching and carreening around the apartment to the simultaneous amusement and consternation of all. From that point on, [livejournal.com profile] somecanuckchick was never far from M's side., and it seemed some sort of chemistry was happening.

Not too terribly long after folks had settled down, Kristienne and Mr. Bull showed up. They were an interesting couple and I had some fun talking to them. It also turns out that along with [livejournal.com profile] _sps_, [livejournal.com profile] miseri and I, the two of them were also great fans of "Flanders and Swann" and happily took my duplicate CD home.

During the course of the next bunch of hours, many jokes were swapped, much witty repartee took place, and much wine and spirits were consumed. And food. There was food EVERYWHERE. It was all good and we stuffed it in for hours until it started spurting out of random orifices. We did our level best and [livejournal.com profile] denizsarikaya is now down to merely large amounts of leftovers, including parts of a delicious Figgy Duff, and a Yule log with passion fruit to simply die for.

After food, we sat around in the living room playing multi-player Zendo (which is actually called something like Dharma Duel) and, of course, Apples to Apples. Gradually people took their leave before the metro shut down. Eventually it became early morning and the few who had stayed because [livejournal.com profile] taxlady and I had promissed a lift had to face the fact that there was nothing but a large snow drift where we had parked the car. [livejournal.com profile] somecanuckchick immediately declared it to be an insurmountable obstacle, and there was nothing left to do but for us all to curl up under warm comforters and snuggle for mutual body heat. Presumably we would emerge in spring, much happier for the experience. As tempting as that offer was, we all trudged out and dug out the car and our combined might (along with top-of-the-line winter tires) was enough to push it out of its snowbank, and see us on our way.

While we were digging ourselved out, M, who may be slow of speech but is not slow of mind, was seeing his first major snowfall ever and immediately deduced what it was good for. He promptly pitched [livejournal.com profile] somecanuckchick into a snowbank, to the accompanyment of much screeching. Not long after, [livejournal.com profile] denizsarikaya tried the same trick only to find a much more alert pitchee this time around. While they struggled, M pushed them both over into the snowbank, and declared himself the victor, to the agreement of all.

We delivered all of our friends safely to their respective street corners, and finally headed home ourselves.

And now I am back at home, full, tired and having laughed so much that my smile muscles all ache. I hereby declare [livejournal.com profile] denizsarikaya's First Annual Perpetual Feast to have been a roaring success. And now I'm going to start the slow relaxation into sleep mode that is so foreign to instant-off type folks like my sweetie. Night all.
