Well, yesterday's shopping trip was, again, a failure due to the car not starting. Currently we think its that the battery has never been fully recharged since it was drained during my SO's trip to LA. It also turns out that the Boomerang (anti-theft tracking device) is NOT a simple low-power transponder as I assumed, but is a continuous transmitter and is known to drain car batteries. So, [livejournal.com profile] taxlady called a friend and drove to Canadian Tire to buy a car booster kit. Once its charged up we'll boost the car and go for a day-long drive out to see the leaves change color in the townships. If we're right that will fully charge the battery and fix the problem. Otherwise, we could end up needing a tow.

We're thinking of inviting a friend or two for the drive but we're not sure how to word the invitation: "Hi, we're thinking of going on a long car trip to see if our car is really broken. Wanna come along?"
