Not Want!

Just had a bit of a shock. I slept in (big surprise) and just now went down to get my first cup of coffee for the day. I picked up the Espresso machine's coffee holder and looked in it and there appeared to be some left over bits of wet tissue in there. For a moment I thought that taxlady had somehow not done as thorough a job of cleaning it as usual, but when I touched one of the bits, they moved. They were maggots. Eeeew.

It quickly went in the sink and got washed, along with the coffee trap that the holder had been sitting on. Its the only place I can think that the maggots might have crawled from, and I had been thinking lately that it was time it got thoroughly cleaned. Now, we've had a bit of a problem in the kitchen lately with some tiny flies and if I had to guess that's what I think the maggots were. In any case, I'm not happy about it!

And now some goodness.

I suppose I should point out WHY I slept in, as that is a good thing. We now have a brand-new feather-bed on top of our old mattresses. Thanks to taxlady's friend Janet who found it for $10 at a value village and then didn't want it. It makes our old bed much, much, much more comfy and I really didn't want to get out of bed this morning.

So, I guess that's a good thing!
