I listed some plans I had in early January. No point in providing a reference to them since they've all been invalidated already. January was a dead loss due to bad colds on the part of [livejournal.com profile] taxlady and moi. We had had plans to visit a friend in TO, but by the time we were better, she wasn't there.

It seems she's gotten the idea into her head to ride a motorcycle from Paris to Amsterdam wearing electric underwear or something. Since she's a writer/editor, I gather that she's hoping to help pay for the trip by selling the story when she's done, or something like that. I must admit I'm a bit unclear on the concept.

But read the blog anyway, she writes well.

Oh, and that reminds me, if someone on my f-list could syndicate her atom feed, (moto-mojo would seem an appropriate name) so I could read it on LJ, that would be appreciated.

I seem to have suddenly gone off of coffee. Thursday I had morning coffee an then coffee with breakfast, as usual. I later went downtown and drank coffee with [livejournal.com profile] sps.

The next morning (yesterday) I woke up, wondered downstairs and discovered I didn't want any coffee, so I made myself tea instead. I drank tea all day and never touched coffee. This morning it was the same thing. Coffee suddenly holds no interest.

Its not the first time this has happened. When I first married [livejournal.com profile] taxlady, I always drank tea by choice and coffee was an occasional thing. I've relapsed into that habit on more than one occasion when she's been out of town. I think it has to do with the relative amounts of work involved, as well as taste.

Although [livejournal.com profile] taxlady drinks tea, she always wants coffee in the morning and will often make coffee even when tea is already brewed. As a result, when she first moved in and she was always up before me, I would wake to a full pot of coffee waiting for me. It was just easier to take a cup than to brew some tea. Then there was a period where we had a coffee maker that could be set to automatically start in the morning, thus making coffee much more convenient.

After both it and its replacement died and we replaced it with a less-fragile but non-automatic model. Still, if I was getting up before her, so I had the choice of making coffee or tea, and they were about equal work, and she would want coffee, I would just make that.

About a year ago, we stopped making pots of coffee (not sure why) and started using the espresso maker to make individual alonges. So now, when [livejournal.com profile] taxlady gets up, she always has the same amount of work to do to get her coffee, no matter what I've already done, and ditto for me if I want coffee.

So, suddenly I find I prefer tea again. Maybe I always did, and I'm just tired of making espressos. Or maybe its just me wanting a bit of a change. We'll see.
