Morning Goodness.

Gee, but I like waking up to azrhey in my inbox. Um, that didn't come out quite right, but its morning so I think I'll let it stand rather than trying to make it more coherent. In any case, it seems like the lady has finally gotten ADSL at her new place, so she should be around a bit more.

Of course she first has 5 weeks worth of LJ to read and favorite TV shows to download...

Snakes on a Plane?

So, the movie starts today, and I'm curious about what will happen. See, I don't think I'll ever bother to see the movei. I mean, why would I care to see "motherfucking snakes on a motherfucking plane" as one of the main characters so succinctly puts it.

No, my curiousity stems for the great Hollywood rarity that it seems to have been advertised as what it is. In other words:

1) Its really bad hollywood B-Movie Schlock.
2) It claims to be really bad hollywood B-Movie Schlock.

Normally a movie like this would claim to have higher aspirations and to have come out lousy by accident. If it wasn't for the leak of the concept and the internet buzz it created, this is what would have probably happened here too. But in this case the transparency of the internet meant that everyone KNEW it would be a stinker from the get-go who's only redeeming feature (if one wants to call it that) would be as a venue to show folks being attacked by snakes on a plane, and the studios finally just ran with that.

So, will honesty pay off? I think so. All of the B-Movie fans who enjoy really bad movies will go to see this, and they will get exactly what they expect to get. What more can the movie-going public ask for?

Will Hollywood finally get a clue and realize that if they advertise for the demographic (no matter how small) that might actually enjoy a particular piece of tripe they've produced, they'll get better box-office results than claiming its high art? I dunno, but it might be a start.
