Well, we made it safely to Boston and will be driving down to Montreal starting in about an hour, as soon as [livejournal.com profile] taxlady and I have had breakfast.

I find I'm really looking forwards to seeing the Cats again and sleeping in my own bed. Travel is lots of fun but its nice to have a place that's your own.

Dialup.

Well, we're back in Montreal, safe and sound.

Now for the bad news: It looks like we'll be on dialup for a while. I can't get my broadband link to come up. I've already talked to my ISP's tech support and everything looks good from their end. This would seem to indicate one of two problems:

1) My ADSL modem is fried. This is a possibility, but it seems to be acting as if everything is okay, so we don't give it too high a probability.

2) The ADSL phone line was damaged. Since there was a wind storm not long after we left, that may well be the problem.

BELL takes up to 3 business days to test an ADSL line, and as its now Friday night, I don't expect to have broadband again until Wednesday, and thats IF its a simple fix.

I sure hope I don't have to buy a new modem, but I won't know until Bell does their tests.
