Slow Mornings.
Mar. 29th, 2005 06:44 amMe and my computer both, we're kinda sluggish right now.
Me, its because I was up till past 11:00 trying to find a freeware file synchronization program for Windows XP that knows about the VSS (Volume Shadow Service) so that I could make a backup of a frozen snapshot of my system. Didn't find one. Meh.
Still, I found a rather nice program called SyncBack which is now making a clone of my system on the backup drive. Its been running all night so far, and looks to be only about 1/2 of the way through the 45 gig partition. Still, since its a synchronizer, the next backup, where it just has to update the existing image, will be mucho faster.
Meanwhile, as its chugging away on my machine, response is kinda slow, but I can live with that. Having a propper backup of all my precious data. THAT is what's important. Still, at the rate things are going, it may be next Saturday before I open the machine up and install the extra RAM. I can live with that.
