Awake in the Morning.
Mar. 18th, 2005 07:00 amSo, I am now awake. It is yet another work day where, I have figured, I make something like .666 ยข per second. I am sooo tempted to just make a little taximeter sign that counts up how much money I've made during the day, so that I have something to remind me why I put up with nonsense.
*Sigh* I am, as you may have noticed, quite a bit more dissillusioned with work right now than I was just a couple of weeks ago. I do have hopes that things will improve from here, but I'm also known as an optimist. Lets see if I can list the GOOD things lately:
Thats all I can think of.
*Sigh* I am, as you may have noticed, quite a bit more dissillusioned with work right now than I was just a couple of weeks ago. I do have hopes that things will improve from here, but I'm also known as an optimist. Lets see if I can list the GOOD things lately:
- My boss has recommended to the CEO that they hire an actual technical writer if they want more tech writing done, since they hired me as a developer in the first place, and I can't do both jobs at once.
- MikeB has been put in charge of product production for our division, making him my new Boss. Thus my old Boss (above) is now my boss' boss. Since I've worked with Mike in the past, I know exactly what to expect from him, and him from me. His first order of business is going to be to stop the chaos and the task thrashing, and that will be a GOOD THING.
- It took having a couple of the developers stay up for 48 hours swatting bugs and putting in last minute feature requests, but our major client in London seems very pleased with our test install. It looks likely that we'll get a large order for our software. This is likely to make our CEO a much happier person.
- I finished the stupid 2-day 2-document rewrite. I don't even know what's on my plate for this morning. I'll have to go and have a look at my task lists when I get in.
Thats all I can think of.
