Fun was had.

Went to a great Turkeyfest at denizsarikaya's and nancyrihakova's place. Much food was had. Much fun was had.

My brain is now fried as I got not-enough sleep last night, and the time is already Oh-God-its-Late tonight, so I think I'm going to hit the sack now. I just wanted to mention what a good time I had!

PS:> The Baby Nancy has always claimed that she's a damn good cook when she wanted to be. Tonight she proved it. YUM!

i used to believe.

There is a wonderful site called i used to believe that lets people write in and mention all of the strange things they used to believe as kids. Of course, the section to read this month should be the one on Halloween beliefs. Did anyone on my friends list have similar strange beliefs as a child?

Of course I did. Here's one of mine:

When I was 6 or 7, my family were visiting my grandma's farm. I knew that my grandma raised chickens and pigs, and that other farmers nearby raised cows. I already knew that you got eggs from chickens and milk from cows, but I wasn't sure why you kept pigs. I had seen a sow with a bunch of hungry suckling pigs attached to her teats, and figured that whatever it was that pigs produced, it had to be pretty darn good. As we were driving by some fields (of sugar beets, it later turned out) my folks started talking about local sugar production. That's when the lightbulb went off. I then announced in a loud voice for all to hear:

"I've figured it out! Eggs come from chickens, milk comes from cows, and sugar comes from pigs!"

The gales of adult amusement were NOT the reaction I was expecting. To this day my mother likes to occasionally remind me that "sugar comes from pigs!"
