Disk Wrangling

swestrupWell, today I slept in until 2:00 pm, mainly, I think, because of difficulty sleeping last night due to concern about ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
azrhey, but she now seems to be doing okay, and once she goes home and gets some more sleep, things will be much more normal on that front.
(Sometimes I think I worry too much about my friends' problems. I think I inherited that from my Mom -- Speaking of which, I should phone her tonight to wish her a happy day.)
In other news,_sps_, and I have spent a number of hours reaming and re-reaming out the borked server, using slightly larger amounts of force each time. We keep getting closer and closer to a working install before something goes monkey and we have to ratchet things up a notch and start over. We're using extreme care because there is currently something like 100 Gig of data stored on the system. Now, we have backups of all of it, but not all in one place, and its a LOT of CD's to have to reread, so we don't want to have to install that.
