I don't get it. I just installed Boost on this little laptop. Boost is a C++ library that prides itself on being mostly headers. In other word, 98% of it installs without any need for compilation.

So, can anyone tell me why it took over 20 hours on this machine for its install script to finish compiling stuff, and why the final output was almost 40 Gig? I now don't have any room to actually write and run the programs I was thinking of working on.
