Ominous Omens

So, _sps_ is here for the weekend as is not terribly unusual. This is normally very fun, but I can't help thinking that last time he visited the body count quickly began to pile up. Every few minutes it was <cough> <cough> <THUD> and someone else would keel over.

So basically I'm strongly hoping that we got all that over two weeks ago, and this time we won't do anything more exciting than sit in a coffee shop and shoot the breeze.

the car chases weren't very stupid. I mean, they weren't as lame as the British ones ("This resident of Brixton is about to do a very stupid thing. He is about to make a left turn onto a residential street with a cardboard container of coffee on the passenger seat. Fortunately, this reckless driver was soon stopped and given some firm advice about upholstery stains.") but they certainly weren't up to the standard of the true American classics ("This disgruntled National Guardsman has stolen an F-15 and has packed it with explosives before driving it the wrong way through a tunnel during rush hour. Police attempts to stop him by dropping spiked pigs into his path have already failed. Watch now as he approaches the tollbooths at approximately Mach 3....").
