Today's deep thought.

Is bacon a condiment?

Discuss.

I don't think so.

Would one have a "mustard supper" or a "mayonnaise supper"? No.

However I remember fondly all of the bacon suppers I've had.

:)

I say it is only if its been "bitted"

Guess it qualifies as a condiment, but I prefer to use the phrase "bacon is the meat's own spice" ;-)

I think bacon implements condiment and meat, like ketchup (after the early 1980s) implements condiment and vegetable.

What does implement implement?

This question is too deep or too silly for me, I'm not sure which.

And here I was certain that it was the metawidget question par excellence ;).

Yes.

B) Sprinkles!

C) The glaze they put on pastries.

B) Ice cream (alone vs. à la mode)
C) Mayonnaise

On reflection, if that is your deep thought, I would hate to meet your shallow ones!

nein, non, no... and so on.

I would venture a yes...

It can be...if it placed on top of a burger (anyone remember The Habitant on Sherbrooke St and their deliciously carcinogenic "Braveburger"??)

I would say also as bits in a salad, but not the kind that comes in a bottle that's just yuk...

And since, I am now prone to order a "BLT sans B", I am hopeful that it is ONLY a condiment that is missing :(

The kind that comes in a bottle isn't bacon. It;s just bacon flavoured. Might it even be vegetarian?

I think it might be pure sodium.

...I must say when I saw it was you commenting I thought -- ah, Hendrik would remember the old Habitat with the flames reaching the ceiling and burgers on the grill... ;(

Hee - don't ask me. I'm the kind of person who will open a new jar of corn relish and devour it.

Silly, condimentary hugs,
H.
