Bad News

I'm posting this here publicly since everyone that I know on LJ who might otherwise be surprised by the information, has already been informed.

I've just learned that an old friend -- Margret Heelan -- has passed away due to cancer. She had been on chemotherapy for the last few years, and I was worried that it wasn't being as effective as hoped, but I hadn't known the prognosis was that bad. We had her over for supper this past summer and while she didn't exactly look healthy, I hadn't thought she was at death's door either.

I'll be going to the visitation tomorrow evening. There's also one on Saturday, but I think this is something I'd like to get over with as soon as possible. We weren't ever particularly close friends but its always hard to lose someone you've known so long. Once upon a time I had cause to wonder if she was attracted to me. I never did anything to find out, and now I guess I'll never know for sure.

*comforts* all the best to you, her family and friends. *superhugs*.

That is a shock to me. I knew her, and considered her a young woman about my age. She was a nice person; life certainly isn't fair.

Well, it's a lot better to hear about it somehow than not at all. I found two photos of Margaret that I have from Halloween parties from 1992-1994, and I will post them on my weblog at http://capj.livejournal.com in case her friends and folks would like to take copies. Could you make a note of that (when you see them posted) in a journal entry in order to alert people?
