Ripping Times.

So, I've just been given a large number of reel-to-reel magnetic tapes containing such things as recordings of me as a kid and voice-mail letters from my grandparents when they were alive. I would like to go through the reels and make .mp3 files of all the stuff worth keeping. The trouble is, I think my parent's reel-to-reel player died years ago. Does anyone know where I could borrow one? I know there are places that will do the ripping for you, but I'm on a budget here, so I'd far rather do it myself.

I have two. I don't know how well they work. One of them in my father's; the other is mine. I last use mine a fewy years ago, and it took a while for it to get up to speed. I suspect the bearings had gotten sticky and they had to limber up.
