So, I was just highly amused by the trailer for StarWreck: In the Pirkinning, a feature-length finnish parody of both Babylon V and Star Trek. The premise of the film appears to be that Captain Pirk and his Federation Starship somehow get marooned back in the year 2006, so he decided to use his advanced technology to take over the world. After recreating the federation in his own bloodthirsty image, they discover a portal to a Babylon 5-like universe. Pirk decides to conquer it too, and all hell breaks loose. There is a wonderful scene of Federation ships blasting the Bejeezus out of a bunch of Earth Destroyers and the Bab-5 station until the Excalibur shows up and starts kicking serious ass. The sets and the costumes are cheesy, but the CGI battle scenes look really authentic. This might actually be worth watching in its entirety!
