So, I'm awake again. Um. It seems to me that happens most days. Other than that, not much going on. I'm currently eating the anti-penultimate and penultimate pieces of birthday cake. I'm afraid I haven't been making very good headway against the backlog of tech articles that fills one of my in baskets. I had thought it would only take me a day or so to wade through them, but I haven't really felt up to reading technical stuff lately. As a result, all I've done is manage to keep the level from rising. I've been playing so much nethack instead that my character finally ascended. Man the last few levels are TOUGH. Angelic beings are NOT to be trifled with!

On the other news front, we bought Leeks last weekend, because they were on special for the first time I've ever seen. A few days ago taxlady whipped up some chicken stock, so today I'm hoping to try my hand at making Vichyssois which is essentially leek-and-pototo soup with cream added. I've never made soup before, and taxlady isn't reknowned for her soups (they tend to be a bit bland), but hopefully by working together we'll have something tasty. I hope so, leek-and-potato is one of my favoritist soups of all time.

If this works out, and we can find some more yeast to buy (the store was out), I'll try my hand at making some home made bread. Hmmmm. Breaeaeaead...
