I'm awake again, despite having decided not to set my alarm to wake up now. The reason for this is that I, once again, couldn't fall asleep last night. So, here I am, awake anyway. That means that, once again, I've only gotten four hours sleep, and I feel awful as a result. Bleah.

I have not been able to wake up all day, so I figure I might as well just go to bed now. Maybe I'll manage to wake up then.

G'Night all!

Awake?

Didn't get much sleep last night. The usual story of tossing and turning for hours. I would still be in bed, but I'm supposed to meet someone at 11:00 am as part of the Networking I've started doing. *eyes clock*

Luckily we're meeting in a coffee shop about a block from here, so I have time to drink some coffee and grab a bite to eat before getting dressed and rushing out the door.

EDIT: They just called and asked me to move the meeting to tomorrow. *headdesk*

Awake.

Went to bed early (10 pm) in hopes of being able to get enough sleep to attend a Networking breakfast with [livejournal.com profile] taxlady. Its intended to let local business people learn about each other and potentially spark oportunities. I am using them to help me learn something about networking, which I am very, very bad at.

Anyway, I just woke up with a very unpleasant feeling in my gut. Not sure what's going on, but some part of my GI tract is not happy with me. Maybe its the sudden switch to very low carb, but I dunno, it never bothered me before. I think I'm going to get me a small (low-carb) snack and see if it helps.

I HAD been hoping for another 3 hours sleep, but that is beginning to look unlikely...

I've tried to go to sleep twice already, but its not working. Everytime I stop occupying my thoughts with other things, my mind comes back to things I don't want to think about, like how great it was to spend time with [livejournal.com profile] denizsarikaya last holliday, and how empty it has seemed without her this time.

I'm very, very tired and I just want to get some sleep, but right now my mind won't let me.

Awake.

I woken up a bit earlier than I had planned, due to the sound of ice pellets hitting the window pane in the bedroom with a loud rattling noise. I had planned to try and sleep in till 8:00 am (for 10 hours sleep total) but it was not to be. So now I am awake, and I go in search of coffee.

I couldn't fall back asleep again. For some reason, if I wake up in the middle of the night, it can take four or five hours before I can manage to fall asleep again, and having lain in bed until now, with no sleep in sight, I figure I may as well get up. My alarm was due to go off in a few minutes anyway.

So, I got to sleep by 9:00 pm last night, and was up around 2:00 am. Thats only 5 hours sleep. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep tonight. Meanwhile I've got coffee brewing and will just go through the motions of starting my day.

What?

I turned into a pumpkin hours ago, so why am I still awake? Just stupid, I guess -- after all, I'm a pumpkin...

I couldn't sleep last night, so I went looking for a nightcap to help. I had planned to have a brown cow, but it turned out we were almost out of cream, so I did without a drink. Today, we have wine, and I'm now on my fourth glass. It seems to be working, because I'm getting quite sleepy. Although my coordination is going, I still seem to be able to touch type at a reasonable rate though...

Yearghh!

Ever since I woke up I've been trying to prop my eyes open and overcome this enormous feeling of lethargy. Now that its bedtime (actually its waaay past bedtime) I find that I'm not sleepy. I still feel braindead and unable to function, but my body doesn't seem to want to sleep...

Hey, I just realized that my SO recently got a refill on some herbal sleeping pills that seemed to do the trick for me before. I think I'm going to go and try them and see what happens.

G'night all.

So [livejournal.com profile] taxlady just informed me that, in her opinion, my plan of going to sleep early is probably not going to work. I suppose, I could argue that to any sane being 7:00 am is pretty damn early. But frankly, I think she might have a point. Oh well, off to bed then, once I've had a bit of cheese, anyway.

Its too hot to sleep. Never mind that I have a humongous air conditioner and I'm actually supposed to stay up all night tonight working on the TorCon website. Truth is the enemy of the interesting.

Ahem. Its too hot to sleep, so [livejournal.com profile] taxlady and I went for a ride in the car, and stopped to pick up donuts. So, now that I'm back at home I'm feeling just a bit more relaxed and refreshed, and I'm munching on a chocolate donut.

I'm now awake again and bleary-eyed after being up till past 5:00 am working on the web site. It was supposed to go live today. It wont. Still lots to be done. I just need to find some part to put to the grindstone that hasn't already eroded away...

Oorgh. So it turns out that it was more than the work of a moment to write up what I wanted in sufficient detail that [livejournal.com profile] _sps_ will be able to figure it out tomorrow. As a result I am still awake some 4 hours after my brain first started to warn of imminent failure. Anyway, I can go sleep now, so I will. Night all.

Sleep will Hulk now.

So, apparently I didn't sleep enough to do me for the next 2000 years, as I had sort of estimated earlier. In fact, it appears to have only lasted about 12 hours. So what's 7 orders of magnitude between friends?

And I only stayed up this late because I was putting together a father's day gift for my dad. I don't think I've EVER sent him one before, so he's sure to be surprised (unless he reads this journal), but I'm sure he'll like it anyway. And as the last of my neurons melt down, its goodnight from me, and its goodnight from myself.

Sleep is good but I think I slept too much. I even had this plan that involved a leisurely breakfast at a nice restaurant and a casual stroll to do some shopping and banking and stuff. Now I look at the time and its all gone pants. I'll have to replan everything now.

It all reminds me of a favorite Warner brothers cartoon that starts with two very fat mice sitting on a pile of cheese in a cheese factory:

Mouse 1: "Do you want some cheese?"
Mouse 2: "No, no, no more, please."
Mouse 1: "Do you think you will ever want cheese again?"
Mouse 2: "I can't imagine it."
Mouse 1: "In an average lifetime, a mouse eats about 1/2 pound of cheese. I figure that last night we lived 2000 years."
Mouse 2: "Thats IT then, there's no reason to go on."
Mouse 1: "Lets find a cat and get him to eat us."
Mouse 2: "Right".

Of course the attempts by the mice to get eaten by the cat drives the cat to paranoia. He finally realizes he will never be able to eat another mouse, and so tries to get the dog to kill him...

It seems that my body has decided that while I'm recovering from the nasty sickness that now seems to have zotted [livejournal.com profile] azrhey I'm going to be somewhat narcoleptic. I collapsed around 6:00 pm last night while reading my Mathematica book, and woke up at 8:00 am this morning.

Other than that, I don't have much to report. I suppose I should get to work.
